What Is My IP?
Your public IP address, ISP, approximate location, and VPN status — detected automatically.
What is a public IP address?
A public IP address is the unique identifier your internet service provider (ISP) assigns to your home network. Every website, game server, or service you connect to sees this address. It's how the internet knows where to send data back to you.
IPv4 vs IPv6
IPv4 is the older 32-bit format (e.g. 203.0.113.42). Because we ran out of IPv4 addresses, the world is gradually moving to IPv6 — a much larger 128-bit format (e.g. 2001:db8::1). Most modern ISPs assign both.
Why does this matter?
Your IP is needed for port forwarding, remote access, gaming server hosting, troubleshooting connectivity, and verifying that a VPN is actually working. If you see a city very different from where you live, your VPN is probably active.
